Alabama Criminal Law Round-Up February 22nd

J.D. Lloyd - Friday, February 22, 2019

Here are a few of the criminal law stories that have recently occurred around the state of Alabama:

- This past Wednesday, the Cullman County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of seven people who have been indicted on federal methamphetamine distribution charges. The sheriff's investigators had arrested the suspects in a recent sweep. The three women and four men range in age from 26 to 51 with all being given the charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

- A 36-year-old convicted felon with a conviction history of second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree assault in Shelby County has been charged in the murder of a 73-year-old Hoover man. The suspect, Jackson Bradley Young, was allegedly seen leaving the home of Arthur Grey Till Jr. this past Sunday night. Two female friends found him on Monday afternoon with the door showing no signs of forced entry. When Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery conducted the autopsy determined Till's death was most likely due to foul play. Young was transferred to the Shelby County Jail after initially being held in the Hoover City Jail. He is being held on a $150,000 bond. Other previous charges since 2002 have included drug possession, fraudulent use of a credit or debit car, burglary, theft of property, resisting arrest and burglary.
